We don’t need to plant some herbs this year because they are perennials and we’ve been planting them for couple years and finally have a good amount of each…like thyme, mint, sage, and oregano. We wouldn’t have had to plant the sorrel again this year, but I accidentally weeded it all last year. When I weed, I’m very thorough. Sometimes, too thorough.
In my defense, last year we only grew the green sorrel. I don’t think I would have weeded the red-veined sorrel…at least that’s what I keep telling myself.
As common as it may seem, I’m really excited about the parsley this year. It’s so easy to add to any dish and always provides a burst of fresh flavor. We froze a lot last year, but we’re down to the last little bit so I’m ready for the fresh-from-the-garden parsley again!
And, on a side note, Matt and I planted 730 tomato plants today! I wonder how long it will take to transplant those. Hmmm, don’t think about it. Because once I start trying to figure that out, I’ll start to wonder about all the peppers and eggplant. Wow. Should be a fun season!
